Diarhebion 2
Beibl William Morgan
2 Fy mab, os derbynni di fy ngeiriau, ac os cuddi fy ngorchmynion gyda thi; 2 Fel y parech i’th glust wrando ar ddoethineb, ac y gogwyddech dy galon at ddeall; 3 Ie, os gwaeddi ar ôl gwybodaeth, os cyfodi dy lef am ddeall; 4 Os ceisi hi fel arian, os chwili amdani fel am drysorau cuddiedig; 5 Yna y cei ddeall ofn yr Arglwydd, ac y cei wybodaeth o Dduw. 6 Canys yr Arglwydd sydd yn rhoi doethineb: allan o’i enau ef y mae gwybodaeth a deall yn dyfod. 7 Y mae ganddo ynghadw i’r rhai uniawn wir ddoethineb: tarian yw efe i’r sawl a rodiant yn uniawn. 8 Y mae efe yn cadw llwybrau barn, ac yn cadw ffordd ei saint. 9 Yna y cei di ddeall cyfiawnder, a barn, ac uniondeb, a phob llwybr daionus.
10 Pan ddelo doethineb i mewn i’th galon, a phan fyddo hyfryd gan dy enaid wybodaeth; 11 Yna cyngor a’th gynnal, a synnwyr a’th geidw: 12 I’th achub oddi wrth y ffordd ddrwg, ac oddi wrth y dyn a lefaro drawsedd; 13 Y rhai a ymadawant â llwybrau uniondeb, i rodio mewn ffyrdd tywyllwch; 14 Y rhai a ymlawenychant i wneuthur drwg, ac a ymddigrifant yn anwiredd y drygionus; 15 Y rhai sydd â’u ffyrdd yn geimion, ac yn gildyn yn eu llwybrau: 16 I’th wared oddi wrth y fenyw estronaidd, oddi wrth y ddieithr wenieithus ei geiriau; 17 Yr hon a ymedy â llywodraethwr ei hieuenctid, ac a ollwng dros gof gyfamod ei Duw. 18 Canys y mae ei thŷ yn gŵyro at angau, a’i llwybrau at y meirw. 19 Pwy bynnag a elo i mewn ati hi, ni ddychwelant, ac nid ymafaelant yn llwybrau y bywyd. 20 Fel y rhodiech di ar hyd ffordd gwŷr da, a chadw llwybrau y cyfiawn. 21 Canys y gwŷr cyfiawn a breswyliant y ddaear, a’r rhai perffaith a gânt aros ynddi. 22 Ond yr annuwiolion a dorrir oddi ar y ddaear, a’r troseddwyr a ddiwreiddir allan ohoni.

Moral Benefits of Wisdom
2 My son,(A) if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding(B)—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight(C)
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,(D)
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.(E)
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;(F)
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.(G)
7 He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield(H) to those whose walk is blameless,(I)
8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.(J)
9 Then you will understand(K) what is right and just
and fair—every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,(L)
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11 Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.(M)
12 Wisdom will save(N) you from the ways of wicked men,
from men whose words are perverse,
13 who have left the straight paths
to walk in dark ways,(O)
14 who delight in doing wrong
and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,(P)
15 whose paths are crooked(Q)
and who are devious in their ways.(R)
16 Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman,(S)
from the wayward woman with her seductive words,
17 who has left the partner of her youth
and ignored the covenant she made before God.[a](T)
18 Surely her house leads down to death
and her paths to the spirits of the dead.(U)
19 None who go to her return
or attain the paths of life.(V)

Proverbs 2
King James Version
2 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
18 For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
19 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
20 That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
