¹⁹And when you look up to the sky and see the sun,^(A) the moon and the stars^(B)—all the heavenly array^(C)—do not be enticed^(D) into bowing down to them and worshiping^(E) things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.

⁸This temple will become a heap of rubble. All^[a] who pass by will be appalled^(A) and will scoff and say, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this land and to this temple?’^(B) ⁹People will answer,^(C) ‘Because they have forsaken^(D) the Lord their God, who brought their ancestors out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them—that is why the Lord brought all this disaster^(E) on them.’”
