¹⁴ At that time the Lord commanded me to teach you statutes and ordinances for you to follow in the land you are about to cross into and possess.

¹⁴ At the end of seven years, each of you must free his Hebrew brother who sold himself^[a] to you. He may serve you six years, but then you must send him out free from you.^(A) But your ancestors did not obey Me or pay any attention.
