25 I fell down and lay prostrate before the Lord for forty days and forty nights because the Lord said that he was going to destroy you. 26 I prayed to the Lord and said, “O Lord, God, do not destroy your people, your own inheritance, whom you redeemed by your great power, and whom you brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand. 27 Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Do not consider the stubbornness of this people nor the wickedness of their sin.
