Deuteronomy 9:18-20
Amplified Bible
18 Then, as before, I fell down before the Lord for [another] forty days and forty nights; I did not eat food or drink water, because of all the sin you had committed by doing [a]what was evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke Him to anger. 19 For I was afraid of the anger and [b]absolute fury which the Lord held against you, [enough divine fury] to destroy you, but the Lord listened to me that time also. 20 The Lord was very angry with Aaron, angry [enough] to destroy him, so I also prayed for Aaron at the same time.

18 Then once again I fell(A) prostrate before the Lord for forty days and forty nights; I ate no bread and drank no water,(B) because of all the sin you had committed,(C) doing what was evil in the Lord’s sight and so arousing his anger. 19 I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you.(D) But again the Lord listened to me.(E) 20 And the Lord was angry enough with Aaron to destroy him, but at that time I prayed for Aaron too.
