2 (A)and when the Lord your God gives them over to you, and you defeat them, then you must (B)devote them to complete destruction.[a] (C)You shall make no covenant with them and show no mercy to them. 3 (D)You shall not intermarry with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons, 4 for they would turn away your sons from following me, to serve other gods. (E)Then the anger of the Lord would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you (F)quickly.

2 and when the Lord your God has delivered(A) them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy(B) them totally.[a](C) Make no treaty(D) with them, and show them no mercy.(E) 3 Do not intermarry with them.(F) Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, 4 for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods,(G) and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy(H) you.
