⁸ Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol^[a] on your forehead.^[b](A)

⁴ “Pass throughout the city of Jerusalem,” the Lord said to him, “and put a mark on the foreheads^(A) of the men who sigh and groan^(B) over all the detestable practices committed in it.”

¹² “The one who conquers I will make a pillar^(A) in the temple of my God, and he will never go out again. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God—the new Jerusalem,^(B) which comes down out of heaven from my God—and my new name.^(C)

³ “Don’t harm the earth or the sea or the trees^(A) until we seal the servants of our God on their foreheads.”^(B)

⁴ They were told not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green plant, or any tree,^(A) but only those people who do not have God’s seal on their foreheads.^(B)
