¹⁴ Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; ¹⁵ for the Lord your God^(A), who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.

¹⁹ If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods^(A) and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed.^(B)

²⁸ the curse if you disobey^(A) the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods,^(B) which you have not known.

¹⁰ These wicked people, who refuse to listen^(A) to my words, who follow the stubbornness of their hearts^(B) and go after other gods^(C) to serve and worship them,^(D) will be like this belt—completely useless!^(E)
