24 (27) You, go near; and hear everything Adonai our God says. Then you will tell us everything Adonai our God says to you; and we will listen to it and do it.’
25 (28) “Adonai heard what you were saying when you spoke to me, and Adonai said to me, ‘I have heard what this people has said when speaking to you, and everything they have said is good. 26 (29) Oh, how I wish their hearts would stay like this always, that they would fear me and obey all my mitzvot; so that it would go well with them and their children forever.

24 And you said, “The Lord our God has shown us(A) his glory and his majesty,(B) and we have heard his voice from the fire. Today we have seen that a person can live even if God speaks with them.(C) 25 But now, why should we die? This great fire will consume us, and we will die if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer.(D) 26 For what mortal has ever heard the voice of the living God speaking out of fire, as we have, and survived?(E)
