³⁷ And because he loved your ancestors^[a] he chose their descendants^[b] after them. And he brought you forth from Egypt with his own presence,^[c] by his great strength, ³⁸ to drive out nations greater and more numerous than you from before you,^[d] to bring you and to give to you their land as an inheritance, as it is this day. ³⁹ So you shall acknowledge today,^[e] and you must call to mind^[f] that Yahweh is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath. There is no other God.
