26 I [a]call heaven and earth to record against you this day, that ye shall shortly perish from the land, whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it: ye shall not prolong your days therein, but shall utterly be destroyed.
27 And the Lord shall [b]scatter you among the people, and ye shall be left few in number among the nations, whither the Lord shall bring you:
28 And there ye shall serve gods: even the work of man’s hand, wood, and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

New International Version
26 I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses(A) against you(B) this day that you will quickly perish(C) from the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess. You will not live there long but will certainly be destroyed. 27 The Lord will scatter(D) you among the peoples, and only a few of you will survive(E) among the nations to which the Lord will drive you. 28 There you will worship man-made gods(F) of wood and stone,(G) which cannot see or hear or eat or smell.(H)
