5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is that they are not his sons; they are a perverse and crooked generation.

6 Do ye thus repay the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is he not thy father that has possessed thee? He made thee and established thee.

7 ¶ Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask thy father, and he will show thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee;

New International Version

5 They are corrupt and not his children;
    to their shame they are a warped and crooked generation.(A)
6 Is this the way you repay(B) the Lord,
    you foolish(C) and unwise people?(D)
Is he not your Father,(E) your Creator,[a]
    who made you and formed you?(F)

7 Remember the days of old;(G)
    consider the generations long past.(H)
Ask your father and he will tell you,
    your elders, and they will explain to you.(I)
