25 Then men will say, ‘(A)Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, which He cut with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt. 26 And they went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods whom they have not known and whom He had not apportioned to them. 27 Therefore, the anger of Yahweh was kindled against that land, (B)to bring upon it every curse which is written in this book; 28 and (C)Yahweh uprooted them from their land in anger and in fury and in great wrath, and He cast them into another land, as it is this day.’

And send to (B)Kedar and perceive closely
And see if there has been such a thing as this!
11 Has a nation changed gods
Though (C)they were not gods?
But My people have (D)changed their glory
For that which does not profit.
12 Be appalled, (E)O heavens, at this,
And be horribly afraid, be very devastated,” declares Yahweh.
13 “For My people have done two evils:
They have forsaken Me,
The (F)fountain of living waters,
To hew for themselves (G)cisterns,
Broken cisterns
That can hold no water.
