Deuteronomy 24:16-18

16 “Parents shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their parents; only for their own crimes may persons be put to death.(A)
17 “You shall not deprive a resident alien or an orphan of justice; you shall not take a widow’s garment in pledge.(B) 18 Remember that you were a slave in Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you from there; therefore I command you to do this.(C)

New International Version
16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.(A)
17 Do not deprive the foreigner or the fatherless(B) of justice,(C) or take the cloak of the widow as a pledge. 18 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt(D) and the Lord your God redeemed you from there. That is why I command you to do this.
