Deuteronomy 22:6-8

6 “You might find a bird’s nest by the road, in a tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs. If you find the mother sitting on the young or on the eggs, do not take the mother with the young. 7 Be sure to let the mother go. But you may take the young for yourself. Then it will go well with you, and you will live long.
8 “When you build a new house, you should put a short wall around your roof. Then no one will fall from it and bring the guilt of blood upon your house.

New International Version
6 If you come across a bird’s nest beside the road, either in a tree or on the ground, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, do not take the mother with the young.(A) 7 You may take the young, but be sure to let the mother go,(B) so that it may go well with you and you may have a long life.(C)
8 When you build a new house, make a parapet around your roof so that you may not bring the guilt of bloodshed on your house if someone falls from the roof.(D)
