Deuteronomy 2:13-15

13 Now rise up, said I, and get you over the river (A)Zered: and we went over the river Zered.
14 The [a]space also wherein we came from Kadesh Barnea, until we were come over the river Zered, was eight and thirty years, until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the Lord sware unto them.
15 For indeed the [b]hand of the Lord was against them, to destroy them from among the host, till they were consumed.

Deuteronomy 2:13-15
New International Version
13 And the Lord said, “Now get up and cross the Zered Valley.(A)” So we crossed the valley.
14 Thirty-eight years(B) passed from the time we left Kadesh Barnea(C) until we crossed the Zered Valley. By then, that entire generation(D) of fighting men had perished from the camp, as the Lord had sworn to them.(E) 15 The Lord’s hand was against them until he had completely eliminated(F) them from the camp.
