⁵ But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be ^(A)put to death because he has ^[a]counseled ^[b]rebellion against Yahweh your God who brought you from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of ^[c]slavery, ^(B)to drive you from the way in which Yahweh your God commanded you to walk. ^(C)So you shall purge the evil from among you.

²⁰ But the prophet who speaks a word ^(A)presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or ^(B)which he speaks in the name of other gods, ^[a]that prophet shall die.’

²⁴ Then they came in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings.

Now Jehu had placed for himself eighty men outside, and he had said, “^(A)The one who permits any of the men whom I cause to come into your hands to escape, ^[a]shall give up his life in exchange.”

²⁵ Now it happened that as soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, Jehu said to the ^[b](B)guard and to the royal officers, “^(C)Come in, strike them down; let none come out.” And they struck them down with the edge of the sword; and the ^[c]guard and the royal officers threw them out and went to the ^[d]inner room of the house of Baal.
