²⁹ When the Lord your God has brought you into the land you are entering to possess, you are to proclaim on Mount Gerizim^(A) the blessings, and on Mount Ebal^(B) the curses.^(C)

¹³ And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal^(A) to pronounce curses: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.

¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law^(A) by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”^[a](B)
