7 Then they travelled to Gudgodah. From there they travelled to Jotbathah, a place where there are many streams of water. 8 At that time, the Lord chose the tribe of Levi to carry the Lord's Covenant Box. He chose them to be his special servants. They had to pray for the Lord to bless his people. They still do these things today. 9 That is why the Levites did not receive any land for themselves, as the other tribes did. The Lord himself would give them everything that they needed, as he had promised.)

New International Version
7 From there they traveled to Gudgodah and on to Jotbathah, a land with streams of water.(A) 8 At that time the Lord set apart the tribe of Levi(B) to carry the ark of the covenant(C) of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to minister(D) and to pronounce blessings(E) in his name, as they still do today.(F) 9 That is why the Levites have no share or inheritance among their fellow Israelites; the Lord is their inheritance,(G) as the Lord your God told them.)
