³⁵ “No one from this evil generation shall see the good land^(A) I swore to give your ancestors,

⁵ It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity^(A) that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness^(B) of these nations,^(C) the Lord your God will drive them out^(D) before you, to accomplish what he swore^(E) to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.^(F)

⁹ and so that you may live long^(A) in the land the Lord swore^(B) to your ancestors to give to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.^(C)

²¹ so that your days and the days of your children may be many^(A) in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.^(B)

³ and say to the priest in office at the time, “I declare today to the Lord your God that I have come to the land the Lord swore to our ancestors to give us.”
