³⁵ ‘None of these men in this evil generation will see the good land I swore to give your ancestors,^(A)

⁵ You are not going to take possession of their land because of your righteousness or your integrity. Instead, the Lord your God will drive out these nations before you because of their wickedness, in order to fulfill the promise he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

⁹ and so that you may live long^(A) in the land the Lord swore to your ancestors to give them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.^(B)

²¹ so that as long as the heavens are above the earth, your days and those of your children may be many in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors.^(A)

³ When you come before the priest who is serving at that time, say to him, ‘Today I declare to the Lord your^[a] God that I have entered the land the Lord swore to our ancestors to give us.’

¹¹ The Lord will make you prosper abundantly with offspring,^[a] the offspring of your livestock, and your land’s produce in the land the Lord swore to your ancestors to give you.

¹³ and so that he may establish you today as his people and he may be your God as he promised you and as he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.^(A)

²⁰ love the Lord your God, obey him, and remain faithful^[a] to him. For he is your life, and he will prolong your days as you live in the land the Lord swore to give to your ancestors^(A) Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

⁷ Moses then summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you will go with^[a] this people into the land the Lord swore to give to their ancestors.^(A) You will enable them to take possession of it.

⁶ For the Israelites wandered in the wilderness forty years until all the nation’s men of war who came out of Egypt had died off because they did not obey the Lord.^(A) So the Lord vowed never to let them see the land he had sworn to their ancestors to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.^(B)
