Deuteronomy 1:21-23
English Standard Version
21 See, the Lord your God has set the land before you. Go up, take possession, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has told you. (A)Do not fear or be dismayed.’ 22 Then all of you came near me and said, ‘Let us send men before us, that they may explore the land for us and bring us word again of the way by which we must go up and the cities into which we shall come.’ 23 The thing seemed good to me, and (B)I took twelve men from you, one man from each tribe.

New International Version
21 See, the Lord your God has given you the land. Go up and take possession(A) of it as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, told you. Do not be afraid;(B) do not be discouraged.”(C)
22 Then all of you came to me and said, “Let us send men ahead to spy(D) out the land(E) for us and bring back a report about the route we are to take and the towns we will come to.”
23 The idea seemed good to me; so I selected(F) twelve of you, one man from each tribe.
