The King Who Exalts Himself

³⁶ “The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself^(A) above every god and will say unheard-of things^(B) against the God of gods.^(C) He will be successful until the time of wrath^(D) is completed, for what has been determined must take place.^{(E) 37} He will show no regard for the gods of his ancestors or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all.

¹³ “‘Every day you are to provide a year-old lamb without defect for a burnt offering to the Lord; morning by morning^(A) you shall provide it.^{(B) 14} You are also to provide with it morning by morning a grain offering, consisting of a sixth of an ephah^[a] with a third of a hin^[b] of oil^(C) to moisten the flour. The presenting of this grain offering to the Lord is a lasting ordinance.^(D)

³¹ “His armed forces will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice.^(A) Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation.^(B)

¹¹ “From the time that the daily sacrifice^(A) is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation^(B) is set up, there will be 1,290 days.^(C)
