GOD’S WORD Translation
9 King Belshazzar was terrified, and his face turned pale. His nobles didn’t know what to do.
10 The discussion between the king and his nobles brought the queen herself into the banquet hall. The queen said, “Your Majesty, may you live forever! Don’t let your thoughts frighten you, and don’t turn pale. 11 There’s a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods. In the days of your grandfather, he was found to have insight, good judgment, and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods. Your grandfather, King Nebuchadnezzar, made him head of the magicians, psychics, astrologers, and fortunetellers.

9 So King Belshazzar became even more terrified(A) and his face grew more pale. His nobles were baffled.
10 The queen,[a] hearing the voices of the king and his nobles, came into the banquet hall. “May the king live forever!”(B) she said. “Don’t be alarmed! Don’t look so pale! 11 There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods(C) in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom(D) like that of the gods.(E) Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners.(F)
