19 Because of the greatness He gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages(A) were terrified and fearful of him. He killed anyone he wanted and kept alive anyone he wanted; he exalted anyone he wanted and humbled anyone he wanted. 20 But when his heart was exalted and his spirit became arrogant,(B) he was deposed from his royal throne and his glory was taken from him.(C) 21 He was driven away from people,(D) his mind was like an animal’s, he lived with the wild donkeys,(E) he was fed grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with dew from the sky until he acknowledged that the Most High God is ruler over the kingdom of men and sets anyone He wants over it.(F)

Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death;(A) those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled.(B) 20 But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride,(C) he was deposed from his royal throne(D) and stripped(E) of his glory.(F) 21 He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like the ox; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign(G) over all kingdoms on earth and sets over them anyone he wishes.(H)
