6 So I gave a decree to (A)bring into my presence all the wise men of Babylon, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. 7 Then the [a](B)magicians, the conjurers, the [b]Chaldeans, and the diviners came in, and I said the dream [c]to them, but they could not make its (C)interpretation known to me. 8 But at last Daniel came in before me, whose name is (D)Belteshazzar according to the name of my god, and in whom is [d](E)a spirit of the holy gods; and I said the dream [e]to him:

6 So I commanded that all the wise men of Babylon be brought before me to interpret(A) the dream for me. 7 When the magicians,(B) enchanters, astrologers[a] and diviners(C) came, I told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me.(D) 8 Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream. (He is called Belteshazzar,(E) after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods(F) is in him.)
