45 You saw a stone(A) break off from the mountain without a hand touching it,[a](B) and it crushed the iron, bronze, fired clay, silver, and gold. The great God has told the king what will happen in the future.[b](C) The dream is true, and its interpretation certain.”

Nebuchadnezzar’s Response

46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell down, paid homage to Daniel, and gave orders to present an offering and incense to him.(D) 47 The king said to Daniel, “Your God is indeed God of gods, Lord of kings,(E) and a revealer of mysteries,(F) since you were able to reveal this mystery.”

45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock(A) cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands(B)—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces.

“The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future.(C) The dream is true(D) and its interpretation is trustworthy.”

46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate(E) before Daniel and paid him honor and ordered that an offering(F) and incense be presented to him. 47 The king said to Daniel, “Surely your God is the God of gods(G) and the Lord of kings(H) and a revealer of mysteries,(I) for you were able to reveal this mystery.(J)
