35 Some of those who are wise will fall, to refine them, and to purify, and to make them white, even to the time of the end; because it is yet for the time appointed.

36 “The king will do according to his will. He will exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and will speak marvelous things against the God of gods. He will prosper until the indignation is accomplished; for that which is determined will be done. 37 He won’t regard the gods of his fathers, or the desire of women, or regard any god; for he will magnify himself above all.

The King Who Exalts Himself

36 “The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself(B) above every god and will say unheard-of things(C) against the God of gods.(D) He will be successful until the time of wrath(E) is completed, for what has been determined must take place.(F) 37 He will show no regard for the gods of his ancestors or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all.
