¹⁹ And ^(A)after destroying ^(B)seven nations in the land of Canaan, ^(C)he gave them their land as an inheritance.

^9 (A)For the Lord has driven out before you great and strong nations. And as for you, ^(B)no man has been able to stand before you to this day.

¹⁸ And the Lord drove out before us all the peoples, the Amorites who lived in the land. Therefore we also will serve the Lord, for he is our God.”

⁷ Did you not, our God, ^(A)drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it for ever to the descendants of ^(B)Abraham your friend?
