21 And all that heard him, were astonished, and said: Is not this he who persecuted in Jerusalem those that called upon this name: and came hither for that intent, that he might carry them bound to the chief priests?
22 But Saul increased much more in strength, and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, affirming that this is the Christ.
23 And when many days were passed, the Jews consulted together to kill him.

New International Version
21 All those who heard him were astonished and asked, “Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name?(A) And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”(B) 22 Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.(C)
23 After many days had gone by, there was a conspiracy among the Jews to kill him,(D)
