²² So Moses learned all the wisdom of the Egyptians and became a great man, both in words and in deeds.

²³ “When he was 40 years old, he decided^[a] to visit his brothers, the descendants of Israel. ²⁴ When he saw one of them being mistreated, he defended him^[b] and avenged the man who was being mistreated by killing the Egyptian.
