5 What they said pleased the whole community, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, together with Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch.(A) 6 They had these men stand before the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.(B)
7 The word of God continued to spread; the number of the disciples increased greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.(C)

5 This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen,(A) a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit;(B) also Philip,(C) Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. 6 They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed(D) and laid their hands on them.(E)
7 So the word of God spread.(F) The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly,(G) and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.
