2 and sorrowed [sorrowing], that they taught the people, and told in Jesus the again-rising from death [from dead].
3 And they laid hands on them, and putted them into ward into the morrow; for it was then eventide.[a]
4 But many of them that had heard the word, believed; and the number of men was made five thousands [five thousand].

2 They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people, proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.(A) 3 They seized Peter and John and, because it was evening, they put them in jail(B) until the next day. 4 But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew(C) to about five thousand.
