We went across the sea by Cilicia and Pamphylia. Then we came to the city of Myra in Lycia. There the army officer found a ship from the city of Alexandria that was going to Italy. So he put us on it.

We sailed slowly for many days. It was hard for us to reach the city of Cnidus because the wind was blowing against us. We could not go any farther that way, so we sailed by the south side of the island of Crete near Salmone.

When we had sailed across the open sea off the coast of Cilicia(A) and Pamphylia,(B) we landed at Myra in Lycia. There the centurion found an Alexandrian ship(C) sailing for Italy(D) and put us on board. We made slow headway for many days and had difficulty arriving off Cnidus. When the wind did not allow us to hold our course,(E) we sailed to the lee of Crete,(F) opposite Salmone.
