Acts 27:28-30
New Life Version
28 They let down the lead weight and found the water was not very deep. After they had gone a little farther, they found there was not as much water. 29 They were afraid we might be thrown against the rocks on the shore. So they put out four anchors from the back of the ship. Then they waited for morning to come.
30 The sailors were thinking of leaving the ship. They let down a boat as if they were going to put out anchors from the front of the ship.

Acts 27:28-30
New International Version
28 They took soundings and found that the water was a hundred and twenty feet[a] deep. A short time later they took soundings again and found it was ninety feet[b] deep. 29 Fearing that we would be dashed against the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight. 30 In an attempt to escape from the ship, the sailors let the lifeboat(A) down into the sea, pretending they were going to lower some anchors from the bow.
