2 And the chief priests and the leading men of the Jews (A)brought charges against Paul, and they were urging him, 3 requesting a [a]concession against [b]Paul, that he might [c]have him brought to Jerusalem (at the same time, (B)setting an ambush to kill him on the way). 4 Festus then (C)answered that Paul (D)was being kept in custody at (E)Caesarea and that he himself was about to leave shortly.

2 where the chief priests and the Jewish leaders appeared before him and presented the charges against Paul.(A) 3 They requested Festus, as a favor to them, to have Paul transferred to Jerusalem, for they were preparing an ambush to kill him along the way.(B) 4 Festus answered, “Paul is being held(C) at Caesarea,(D) and I myself am going there soon.
