26 At the same time he was hoping that Paul would give him money, and so he sent for him frequently and talked with him. 27 After two years Felix handed over the reins of office to Porcius Festus. He wanted to do the Jews a favor, and so he left Paul in prison.

26 At the same time he was hoping that Paul would offer him a bribe, so he sent for him frequently and talked with him.
27 When two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus,(A) but because Felix wanted to grant a favor to the Jews,(B) he left Paul in prison.(C)
