¹⁶I always do my best to have a clear conscience^(A) toward God and men.

¹⁶So I strive always to keep my conscience clear^(A) before God and man.

¹⁶And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void to offence toward God, and toward men.

³²Give no offense^(A) to the Jews or the Greeks or the church of God,

³²Do not cause anyone to stumble,^(A) whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God^(B)—

³²Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
