34 But among the crowd (A)some were shouting one thing and some another, and when he could not find out the [a]facts because of the uproar, he ordered him to be brought into (B)the barracks. 35 And when he got to (C)the stairs, he actually was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the crowd; 36 for the multitude of the people kept following them, shouting, “(D)Away with him!”

34 Some in the crowd shouted one thing and some another,(A) and since the commander could not get at the truth because of the uproar, he ordered that Paul be taken into the barracks.(B) 35 When Paul reached the steps,(C) the violence of the mob was so great he had to be carried by the soldiers. 36 The crowd that followed kept shouting, “Get rid of him!”(D)
