Acts 21:34-36
International Standard Version
34 Some of the crowd shouted this and some that. Since the tribune[a] couldn’t learn the facts due to the confusion, he ordered Paul[b] to be taken into the barracks. 35 When Paul[c] got to the steps, he had to be carried by the soldiers because the mob had become so violent. 36 The crowd of people kept following him and shouting, “Kill him!”

New International Version
34 Some in the crowd shouted one thing and some another,(A) and since the commander could not get at the truth because of the uproar, he ordered that Paul be taken into the barracks.(B) 35 When Paul reached the steps,(C) the violence of the mob was so great he had to be carried by the soldiers. 36 The crowd that followed kept shouting, “Get rid of him!”(D)
