Apollos in Ephesus and Corinth

²⁴ At that time a Jew named Apollos, who had been born in Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent speaker and had a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures.

¹² Now, about brother Apollos. I have often encouraged him to visit you with the other believers, but he is not completely convinced^[a] that he should go at this time. When he gets the chance, however, he will go.
