46 Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you (A)first. Since you reject it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, (B)we are turning to the Gentiles. 47 For so the [a]Lord has commanded us,
‘(C)I have placed You as a (D)light for the Gentiles,
That You may [b]bring salvation to the end of the earth.’”
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying (E)the word of [c]the [d]Lord, and as many as (F)had been appointed to eternal life believed.

New International Version
46 Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first.(A) Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.(B) 47 For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
“‘I have made you[a] a light for the Gentiles,(C)
that you[b] may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’[c]”(D)
48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord;(E) and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.
