¹⁷If then God gave them the same grace, as to us also who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ; who was I, that could withstand God?

¹⁸Having heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying: God then hath also to the Gentiles given repentance unto life.

¹⁹Now they who had been dispersed by the persecution that arose on occasion of Stephen, went about as far as Phenice and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to none, but to the Jews only.

¹⁷So if God gave them the same gift^(A) he gave us^(B) who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”

¹⁸When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”^(C)

¹⁹Now those who had been scattered by the persecution that broke out when Stephen was killed^(D) traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus and Antioch,^(E) spreading the word only among Jews.
