Acts 11:16-18
The Voice
16 Then I remembered what Jesus had said to us: “John ritually cleansed people with water through baptism,[a] but you will be washed with the Holy Spirit.”[b] 17 So, if God gave them the same gift we were given when we believed in the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, who was I to stand in God’s way?
18 There was no argument, only silence.
Circumcised Believers: Well then, we must conclude that God has given to the outsiders the opportunity to rethink their lives, turn to God,[c] and gain a new life.
Acts 11:16-18
New International Version
16 Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with[a] water,(A) but you will be baptized with[b] the Holy Spirit.’(B) 17 So if God gave them the same gift(C) he gave us(D) who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?”
18 When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”(E)
