39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem, whom they slew, hanging him on a tree.
40 Him God raised up the third day, and caused that he was showed openly:
41 Not to all the people, but unto the witnesses [a]chosen before of God, even to us which did eat and drink with him, after he arose from the dead.

39 “We are witnesses(A) of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross,(B) 40 but God raised him from the dead(C) on the third day and caused him to be seen. 41 He was not seen by all the people,(D) but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate(E) and drank with him after he rose from the dead.
