⁹Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it ^(A)the City of David. And David built all around from ^[a]the Millo and inward.

⁹David then took up residence in the fortress and called it the City of David. He built up the area around it, from the terraces^[a]^(A) inward.

²⁴But ^(A)Pharaoh’s daughter came up from the City of David to ^(B)her house which ^[a]Solomon had built for her. ^(C)Then he built the Millo.

²⁴After Pharaoh’s daughter^(A) had come up from the City of David to the palace Solomon had built for her, he constructed the terraces.^(B)
