¹⁰ and transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul and establish David’s throne over Israel and Judah from Dan to Beersheba.”^(A)

¹² So Solomon sat on the throne^(A) of his father David, and his rule was firmly established.^(B)

²⁴ And now, as surely as the Lord lives—he who has established me securely on the throne of my father David and has founded a dynasty for me as he promised^(A)—Adonijah shall be put to death today!”

⁴⁵ But King Solomon will be blessed, and David’s throne will remain secure^(A) before the Lord forever.”

²⁵ then kings who sit on David’s throne^(A) will come through the gates of this city with their officials. They and their officials will come riding in chariots and on horses, accompanied by the men of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, and this city will be inhabited forever.^(B)

³⁰ Therefore this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim^(A) king of Judah: He will have no one to sit on the throne of David; his body will be thrown out^(B) and exposed^(C) to the heat by day and the frost by night.^(D)
