² “The Spirit^(A) of the Lord spoke through me;
    his word was on my tongue.
³ The God of Israel spoke,
    the Rock^(B) of Israel said to me:
‘When one rules over people in righteousness,^(C)
    when he rules in the fear^(D) of God,^(E)

¹⁴ The human spirit can endure in sickness,
    but a crushed spirit who can bear?^(A)

¹⁵ The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge,^(B)
    for the ears of the wise seek it out.
