³     my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,^(A)

    surely he would not have made with me an everlasting covenant,^(A)
    arranged and secured in every part;
surely he would not bring to fruition my salvation
    and grant me my every desire.

³⁴ I will defend^(A) this city and save it,
    for my sake and for the sake of David^(B) my servant.’”
