3 And David brought up his men who were with him, each one with his household, and they dwelt in the towns of Hebron.
4 And the men of Judah came and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. They told David, The men of Jabesh-gilead buried Saul.(A)
5 And David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh-gilead, saying, May the Lord bless you because you showed kindness and loyalty to Saul your king and buried him.

3 David also took the men who were with him,(A) each with his family, and they settled in Hebron(B) and its towns. 4 Then the men of Judah came to Hebron,(C) and there they anointed(D) David king over the tribe of Judah.
When David was told that it was the men from Jabesh Gilead(E) who had buried Saul, 5 he sent messengers to them to say to them, “The Lord bless(F) you for showing this kindness to Saul your master by burying him.

5 And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabeshgilead, and said unto them, Blessed be ye of the Lord, that ye have shewed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him.
